Anonymous, you shouldn't be communicating with child objects via events. The event flow (http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=16_Event_handling_4.html) really doesn't work that way.

If you'd like a parent object to communicate with a child object, use the public properties / methods of that child object instead.

Hi, would you be able to provide an example how to dispatch event from parent comp to the child, I've tried your method but it doesn't work or maybe explain why it doesn't work.
