Important: This poll is not limited to Flex developers in the US. Please read the comments associated with this blog entry to get a sense of where the votes are coming from.
Obviously, many factors must be considered when determining a Flex developer's hourly rate. These may include:- Experience (i.e. less than 1yr, 1-2yrs, 2-4yrs, 4+yrs)
- Skill level (i.e. junior, intermediate, advanced, expert)
- Role (employee, contractor (or subcontractor), consultant)
- Responsibilities (i.e. Flex dev only, Flex + Java dev, etc)
- Developer's track record
Additional factors may include:
- Market size (small, medium, large)
- Market forces (supply and demand)
- Geography
- Client's budget
- Project urgency
Note: If you're an employee with a salary and benefits, someone once told me your hourly rate can be determined by (salary / annual hours) * 1.4. (annual hours typically equals 2000)
